Rococo Futures is a series of images structured around two states of contemporary desire.
Ultrarose is exposure: electric pink, hyper-visibility, performance, attraction and the body under a permanent gaze.
Obsidian is withdrawal: deep black, late-night correspondence, solitude, longing and the anxiety of waiting for a response.
One performs desire. The other waits for it. Together, they move between visibility and invisibility, spectacle and solitude, exposure and intimacy.
Les Liaisons dangereuses offers a particularly sharp lens through which to read Rococo Futures.
The images in Rococo Futures are built through vector forms, elaborate ornament and theatrical composition. Past and present occupy the same frame.
This is not historical reconstruction. It is historical reconfiguration.
